Complex Cases Case 380
Before & After
Case Details
In this particular instance, a vibrant 36-year-old patient presented with concerns related to previous breast augmentation and mastopexy outcomes completed elsewhere. Due to her dissatisfaction with what she identified as overly large implants, noticeable breast asymmetry, and what felt to her like an off-centered positioning of her breasts, her primary motivation for pursuing the procedure was to improve her comfort and confidence. The aim was always to exchange her implants for wider, softer ones with less projection— an approach for a more natural look and feel. This was not solely about appearance but about how the patient internally identified and physically felt in her skin.
The key in complex cases like these, particularly those involving reoperation, lies in careful planning and a tailored surgical approach. With that in mind, I revised her mastopexy, focusing more on the left side than the right. Her implant malposition, which had caused her breasts to appear laterally displaced, was corrected using the Galaflex mesh in a capsulectomy - a technique I commonly employ in complex cases in Toledo. This tremendously improved the alignment between her nipple and breast mound, resulting in an aesthetic substantially closer to her desired outcome.
From her first consult to her final follow-up appointment, the plan remained fixed on the patient's unique needs and expectations. This ultimately led to her improved self-assurance and satisfaction with her appearance, demonstrating the success that comes from personalized, patient-focused care. This specific experience and my responsibility in delivering such transformative results underscores my commitment to my patients in Toledo.-rooted in my education through Indiana University School of Medicine and my various professional affiliations including The Aesthetic Society and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. No matter the complexity of the case, my aim remains clear—to help my patients live their truth through their own body.
