Implant Revision Case 550

As a patient walks into my clinic searching for corrective measures, they often carry years of frustration and dissatisfaction with their outlook. This was the case for a determined and healthy 51-year-old woman who had traversed a complex journey of breast surgeries. The main motivation for the implant revision was her desire for a more natural look--smaller breasts and to eliminate the high look of her previous implants. After several discussions and collaborative consultations, we decided that a secondary mastopexy and breast augmentation with Galaflex using 220cc soft touch gel implants could bring the desired changes. Her frustration stemmed from a history of failed previous surgeries. Her first mastopexy and breast augmentation in 2006 was performed with saline implants which ended in disappointment. She developed capsular contracture and had to have a second corrective surgery in 2010. But the experience had left her with something she felt was even less desirable--droopy and bottomed out breasts.

With this patient, we saw a successful outcome from the implant revision in Toledo. Post-operation, her transformation was astonishing. She was rather pleased with the smaller, natural-looking breasts which were neither too high nor droopy. In narrating her journey, she emphasized her contentment, having finally achieved the appearance she had been longing for years.
