Addressing complex cases in Toledo, often my role is to help patients restore their natural body contours and regain confidence in their appearance. One such case involved a 56-year-old patient, who came to me, unhappy with the results from a previous breast augmentation surgery she had undergone elsewhere more than 20 years ago. Her breasts had become over-augmented due to the use of 650cc saline implants, resulting in inflexible, unnaturally high-set breasts. The 'waterfall effect,' where her breasts sat higher than her nipples, was a noticeable and distressing outcome for her.

With years of experience and a commitment to personalized care plans, my objective was to correct the results of the earlier surgery and give her a more natural look. I performed a secondary breast augmentation combined with a mastopexy, also known as a breast lift. This was accomplished with a total capsulectomy, which involved the removal of the fibrous shell that the body naturally forms around the implant. I also utilized GalaFlex for reinforcing her inframammary fold and replaced the 650cc saline with 375cc soft touch gel implants, popularly known as 'gummy bear' breast implants.

The transformation that followed was significant and met her expectation of a natural, aesthetically pleasing appearance. The patient was delighted with the outcome, feeling her breasts now had a more balanced, yielding texture and sat more naturally.
