If you've ever cut calories or clocked extra hours at the gym in an effort to reduce dimples on your thighs and buttocks, you may have been disappointed with the results. As countless people have discovered, cellulite is notoriously tough to treat, even with pricey topical products. To offer his patients the latest in effective care, Dr. Craig Colville is pleased to offer Cellfina, a nonsurgical cellulite treatment, for his patients from Toledo, Maumee, Ann Arbor, and other communities throughout Ohio and Michigan.
If you're in search of a cellulite treatment that really delivers on its promises, Cellfina may be right for you. Request a consultation online to meet with Dr. Colville or call the office at (419) 534-6551 to schedule your appointment.
To understand how Cellfina works, it's important to first understand exactly what cellulite is. Although most people believe cellulite is simply a by-product of excess fat, the condition is actually a bit more complex. The dimples that appear on thighs and buttocks are caused by fibrous bands of tissue that pull on skin from below. This is why these stubborn dimples can't be adequately treated by topical products or special massages.
Cellfina works by targeting the structure of cellulite, breaking it down and smoothing it away. The Cellfina tool uses a very small microblade to release the fibrous bands. The outpatient procedure requires very small incisions and allows patients to return to work and other light activities immediately.
Cellfina requires only local numbing of the treatment area, which means you'll be awake and comfortable throughout your procedure. Dr. Colville begins by applying the Cellfina handpiece to your treatment area, where it comfortably and securely attaches. He directs the microblade just below your skin, where it releases the bands.
The procedure is relatively brief, and thanks to the device's small blade, it leaves little effect behind. No stitches are necessary. You may experience some slight swelling or bruising afterward, but these signs are mild and temporary.
Cellfina is an FDA-cleared treatment for cellulite, making it one-of-a-kind here at Dr. Colville's office. Unlike CoolSculpting® and liposuction, Cellfina isn't intended to reduce fat. Instead, it smooths away lumps and dimples caused by cellulite.

About 94% of those patients said they were still satisfied with their results after 1 year, while 85% were still happy after 3 years.
